Creative Wedding Invitations: How to Make Them

To make creative wedding invitations, the first thing to consider is how far you can go without going off the solemn theme of a wedding. Among invitation types, weddings are one of the most formal. This formality, though, can still be maintained in the message inscribed within the invitation and the colors used.

In some invitations for weddings, instead of a layover, a foldover page can be used designed like an opening door. In some cases, instead of a tissue or fine paper as cover, fine textile fabrics are used. There are also those who use tree barks manufactured into envelope shapes.

For couples having their wedding at the beach, a less formal invitation can be an option. This can open up a lot of opportunities to be creative and to experiment with non-traditional styles and designs. A humorous invitation, particularly for informal nuptials, can convey the importance of the event as much as a formal invite. For a fun invitation, a cartoon image of the couple with witty messages on the inside can be used to tell the guests of the impending marriage. But be sure that the important details, like the where and the when, are still included in the invitation.

Small size glass mugs with small cards attached to them carrying the details of the wedding are now quite common, and so do cage-shaped invitations, sometimes with two artificial doves perched inside.

These types of invitations are more often used in informal weddings such as those that will be held by the beach. Whatever type of invitation a couple prefers, it is important that pertinent information such as where the event will take place and when are included in the invitation.
